Meet the Artist ... Jennifer Shirley

Jennifer Shirley began woodworking in the mid 90s out of necessity because she wanted to refurbish her 1925 bungalow. She started turning in 1999 and from that first “unsightly candlestick” (her words) she made, she was hooked. She felt that the free-form flow aspects of turning allowed her to create things without the worry of cut lists, tape measures, and joinery, and she found it to be much more relaxing than flatwork. More of Jennifer’s work can be viewed on her website: www.jenshirley.com.
