Meet the Artist ... Chris Wright

For Chris Wright, the draw of woodturning is twofold. On one hand, the fast pace and aggressiveness of the craft itself is similar to his other hobbies: motorcycles and music. On the other hand, the flowing curves, beautiful grain patterns, and constant surprises working with wood offers, feed his overactive imagination with constant stimulation and inspiration. Chris tends to favor voluminous forms: pieces seemingly filled with internal pressure, light enough that they could almost float off the table.
