Segmented platter with star inlay

Postby Ad de Crom » Sat Jun 27, 2009 11:39 pm

With this segmented platter I tried to achieve a higher level in segmented turning by making this star inlay.
Still it's simple, but a good exercise.
DxH 300mm x 40mm
The star and the ring around the star, as well as the rim is made of Merbau (indonesian hardwood)
The other segmented rings are yellow pine.

Nicely done!
I really like the rings in the pine, always a favorite with me.
Never heard of the Merbau, nice contrast.

Thanks for showin' it off!! :D

Thanks MD.
Always a big fun segmented work.
Very pity that it's so quiet on this forum :( , I guess to many woodturning or woodworking forums in the USA.
I'm already happy with one Dutch woodworking forum :D
All the best, Ad
