Lidded Box

Black Palm Box, Ebony lid and collar were turned on my Shop Made Rose Engine Lathe.

Cool box. I've never turned palm; is it difficult? I would imagine that it doesn't cut well, but I could be wrong.

Thanks for the nice comments. Palm is difficult to work with, you get lots of tearout. I use very sharp tools to get as smooth a finish as possible, then I flood the piece with CA glue before final cuts are made. The glue prevents any tearout from the tools and lets you sand to a very smooth finish.
