Spiral-Fluted Vase

11” to 14” long whole log about 6” to 7” in diameter (grapefruit wood was used for vase featured.)

Tools:
Spur drive, live center, 3” or 4” faceplate, steady rest, boring bar and cutters, variable speed drill, drive socket, 5/32” drill bit, 3/8” rounded and 3/8" sharply beveled gouges, 3/4” continental gouge,
outside calipers and thickness calipers, flexible straight edge, small round cutter in Stewart tool

Screws to attach faceplate (1-1/2” long X 1/4” shank hex head concrete screws were used for project featured)

To make your own depth gauge (optional: 1/4” thick X 1-1/2” wide X 16” to 20” long flat piece of wood,
