MATERIALS NEEDED:
STAVES: 17 pieces, ⅝" thick x 1" wide x 6" long cut at 10° angle. When glued up, the
barrel diameter is approximately 5-½" in diameter. You can use whatever species
you want but I used walnut, cherry, and oak for my birdhouse. I used kingwood for the perch.
TOP:
Bottom: 1 piece, 1" thick x 7" in diameter of wood of your choice; I used cherry
Middle: 1 piece, 1" thick x 6" in diameter, walnut
Finial: 1 piece, 1-½" thick x 1-¾" in diameter, cherry
BOTTOM:
Bottom: 1 piece, 1-½" thick x the same diameter as the outside dimensions of
the barrel, cherry
Middle: 1-¼" thick x 4" in diameter, walnut
Bottom finial: 2" long x 2" in diameter, cherry
SCREW EYE:
Select one that will support the weight of the birdhouse.

Two, 1" x #8 brass
BARREL TENONS:
2 pieces, ¾" thick hardwood for turning tenons to go in the barrel of the birdhouse
