Lathe with a 4-jawed chuck and a live center with a cone point
Jacobs chuck with Morse taper and ⅛" twist drill bit
Assorted lathe tools including: Easy Wood rougher, Easy Wood mini-finisher, ⅜” spindle gouge, ⅛” parting tool.

MATERIALS NEEDED:
Maple turning blank or your wood choice, 2” x 6”-10”

Build Your Own Thread Chasing Tools

Tap w/handle
Hacksaw
Flat file (thinner than the metal you use)
Thread gauge
Magnifying glasses
6” or 8” triangular file
Propane torch
Magnet
Baking oven
Lathe w/assorted chisels

MATERIALS NEEDED:
Hex nut of the proper thread pitch.
High carbon tool steel: ⅛” thick x ½” wide
Assorted grits of abrasive paper
Wood for handle
Cyanoacrylate glue (Optional)

Yellow wood glue
Sheetmetal or wood screws (see article for sizes)
Abrasive paper and 2” Velcro abrasive disks (various grits to 400 grit)
Velcro hook material (for ball-shaped sander)
Waterlox or finish of choice

Two-part epoxy glue
Spray or wipe-on polyurethane or finish of choice
